2017 International Exchange Program between Panal 361 (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Mentoring Artists for Women's Art-MAWA (Winnipeg, Canada). And ArtCenter/South Florida

The ArtCenter Alumni Othón Castañeda and Josefina Posch were selected for the 2017 International Exchange Program in Panal 361 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Mentoring Artists for Women's Art-MAWA (Winnipeg, Canada). In exchange, ArtCenter/South Florida will welcome Paula Guersenzvaig from Panal 361 and Andrea Roberts from MAWA. Othón Castañeda is a visual artist who holds an MFA in Visual Art with a concentration in Drawing from Miami International University of Art and Design. He has developed his work in different media, focusing mainly on drawing and three-dimensional works in mixed media, among which we find assemblages and large-scale installations. Josefina Posch's practice lies in the discourse found between sculpture, new media and social practice, focusing on the point in which technology, biology, and fiction meet. She is known for producing large-scale temporary public sculptures. In conjunction with the 52nd Venice Biennial, Posch participated in Migration Addicts, an exhibition where she created a 25 ft. rubber sculpture on Campo Santo Stefano. Paula Guersenzvaig is a sound technician, teacher and research artist, with special interest in the intersections between sound and technology and artistic experience. Guersenzvaig studied math, photography, music, and computer programming. Her interactive installations deal with the aesthetics of sound and listening using technological elements. In collaboration with partner institutions, ArtCenter hosts visiting artists, curators or researchers and gives alumni the opportunity to travel for international residencies to expand their global networks and gain exposure for their work. PANAL 361, founded in 2002, is a creative center with 30 studio spaces, located in the Abasto neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. PANAL 361 fosters the intersection of different disciplines and the development of emerging and established artists. The International Cultural Exchange Program is open to ArtCenter/South Florida Alumni interested in participating in a research and/or production residency at PANAL 361. In exchange, ArtCenter has hosted artists from Panal 361.
