The Casa del Lago Juan José Arreola and FLORA ars+natura have announced the continuation of their Artistic Residency and Production Program for 2017. The deadline to submit applications for the call is April 17. The program is a collaborative platform for the production and dissemination of the visual arts centered on the relationship between art and nature. It offers an artist the possibility of completing a residency in the Honda region of Colombia. The city of Honda is located in a very rich and diverse natural environment. Established in 1539, the place became a very important geographical region during the colonial period and the beginning of the republic because of its strategic location as the last navigable point along the Magdalena River. The residency will take place from July 15 to August 15 of 2017. The different facets and results generated by the experience will be exhibited at the end of the residency both at the Casa del Lago Juan José Arreola in Mexico City and at FLORA ars+natura in Bogota. Requirements: •Being a Mexican national or a person from another country who has resided in Mexico for at least five years. •Submit an individual research and production project to be completed during the period of stay in Honda. Artistic groups will not be accepted. Incentives: •An artistic residency in Honda from July 15 to August 15 of 2017. The artist may divide his or her stay between Honda and Bogota. •Mexico-Bogota-Mexico airplane ticket and transportation to the interior of Colombia. •The winner will receive a purse of 17,000.00 Mexican Pesos. •The winner will also receive up to 50,000.00 Mexican Pesos to cover expenses associated with the production of the work (invoices and receipts must be presented). •The artist will receive advice on the region as well as help from an assistant. •The artist's project will be promoted and exhibited by the Casa del Lago Juan José Arreola and by FLORA. •Up to 15,000.00 Mexican Pesos will be granted to cover for the transportation of the work from Colombia to Mexico.
