Development Program for Cultural Projects and Joint Cultural Investments

Aimed at stimulating cultural development in Mexico, the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) announces the opening of its 2013 Development Program for Cultural Projects and Joint Cultural Investments.

The call is open to Mexican nationals or international candidates that can demonstrate legal residency in the country through the ″inmigrante″ or ″inmigrado″ photo-ID card (formerly known as FM2) issued by the Instituto Nacional de Migración of the Secretaría de Gobernación, in which the cardholder is authorized to perform paid professional activities in the country that are in line with the nature of the project submitted.

The support is offered in two modalities to accommodate the initiatives presented by creators, interpreters, promoters and educators for the development of integral projects.

Support will be offered to the following artistic disciplines: Architecture, Visual Arts, Dance, Cultural Studies, Literature, Audiovisual Media, Music and Theater, among other disciplines.

Purses of up to 250,000.00 Mexican pesos each will be granted to initiatives that do not necessarily rely on other types of economic support. Conversely, purses of up to 400,000.00 Mexican pesos each will be granted to proposals that rely on other financial support or contributions in kind that may come from: public or private financing sources (with contributions that cover at least 35% of project's total cost); contributions from applicant groups formed by individuals (with a contribution of at least 35 percent of the total cost of the project); universities and research centers (with contributions of at least 50 percent of the total cost of the project); and any contributions from groups supported in theaters and from the theater community in Mexico.
