2010 Production and Research Support Program for Art and Media

With the goal of stimulating creation and research in the field of electronic and digital media in Mexico, the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, through the Centro Multimedia of the Centro Nacional de las Artes, announces its call for the 2010 Production and Research Support Program for Art and Media. The Program will grant economic support of up to 2000,000.00 MXN and/or access to the use of equipment, and will also offer professional consultancy on individual or collective artwork production and research. The support program covers project development in the following categories: Research: Contemplates the development of research projects never before published in the social sciences on the relationship between art and technology. The projects must present a theoretical analysis of contemporary artistic practices that reflect upon technology and its use. Production: This considers the production of never before published artistic works created with electronic media such as video art, sound art, net-art, installation, performance, robotics, electronics, the performing arts, and similar manifestations. The call is open to Mexican and international artists and researchers living in Mexico over the age of 18. To choose a winner, the selection committee will evaluate conceptual clarity, originality, and the economic and technical viability of the projects presented, as well as the candidate's trajectory.
