The first edition of the Miami Biennale of Sculpture will take place from December 3, 2010 to January 15, 2011. It will showcase approximately fifty monumental sculptures along Biscayne Boulevard and in the Bayside Marketplace shopping mall. The lobby of the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Miami will exhibit the interior sculptures. This first edition of the Biennale of Sculpture will showcase works by international artists like Rufino Tamayo, Sophia Vari, Frank Stella, Jesús Rafael Soto, Thomas Scheibitz, Agustín Cárdenas, and Olafur Eliasson among others. Produced by Gary Nader and curated by Ricardo Pau-Llosa, the Biennial of Sculpture in Miami has received the support of Mayor Tomás Regalado, Commission Chairman Marc Sarnoff, Commission Vice-Chairman Frank Carollo, City Manager Carlos Migoya, Art in Public Spaces Director Michael Spring, Downtown Development Authority Director Alyce Robertson, Adminstrator Cesar García-Pons, and Community Redevelopment Agency Executive Director Pieter Bockweg.
