The Argentine Association of Art Critics and the Fundación Proa call to participate in the First Contest of Critical and Curatorial Essays of Argentine and Latin American Art. The current problematics within the criticism and curatorial practices of Argentine and Latin American Art will be the theme for the first edition.
The contest, aimed for Argentine and foreign-based in the country students, artists, critics, curators, researchers, or teams of investigators without age limit, invites to delve and examine -in the different artistic fields and cultural disciplines-, from thematic, critical, and / or interdisciplinary essays that converge on the problems of criticism and curatorship, analyzing their processes and discourses.
The essays can point out their approaches not only in the fields of Visual Arts but also in the possible intersections between this discipline with the music, film, literature, dance, and new media fields. Likewise, with the connections established with cultural studies such as gender, cultural management, public, education, postcolonial problems, criticism, history, art theory, and philosophy can be addressed.
