Premios Vida 13.0

The Fundación Telefónica announces the call for participation for the Premios VIDA, an event aimed at showcasing artistic works created through artificial life technologies and their related disciplines, such as robotics, artificial intelligence, chaotic algorithms, informatics viruses, biotechnology, virtual environments, and sound sculpture. The competition is divided in two participatory modalities: Finished Projects and Production Incentives. The Finished Projects awards artistic proposals created with artificial life technologies and developed after September 2008. The sum of 40,000.00 euros has been allocated to award the three projects chosen by the jury in this category. Seven honorable mentions will also be awarded to other projects selected by the jury from among the finalists in this group. The Production Incentives category was conceived to finance projects that incorporate artificial life technologies, and have yet to be executed. It is open to artists from Spain¿or artists that reside in Spain¿and Portugal, or from any Latin American country. Forty thousand euros have been allocated for this category, an amount that will be divided between the proposals selected by the jury. The winning projects will be exhibited at the Galería VIDA in the Fundación Telefónica's homepage. The projects will also be presented in exhibitions organized by the Fundación Telefónica, or in other exhibitions in which this organization participates. The deadline for all entries is November 7.
