The Sony World Photography Awards will be presented on April 16 at the Palais des Festivals (Palace of Festivals) in Cannes, France. The Sony World Photography Awards comprises one of the most important international photographic events. There will be several awarded categories. These include the following: fashion, advertising, and sports; photojournalism and documentary; social, cultural, and contemporary issues; and landscape, wild life, and ecology. Some winners are, in the Sport category, Canadian photographer Julian Abram Wainwright; in the Current Affairs category, Polish photographer Wojciech Grzedzinski; in Architecture, German photographer Michael van den Bogaard; and in Natural History, Australian photographer Lisa Maree Williams. Sponsored by the Sony brand, the competition this year received a total of 36,546 works, from which 113 finalists were selected.
