A jury composed of Katherine Chacón, Roldán Esteva-Grillet, and Susana Benko announced recently the AICA 2012 awards for artists and critics, as well as the best exhibitions and publications in Venezuela during the year. On this occasion, not only exhibitions were variously recognized according to their rye, but exhibitions were also evaluated in terms of their scope, originality, and complexity. All the awards given were based on quality criteria.

Moros; Emerging Artist: Lucía Pizzani; International Projection Category: Javier Téllez; Recognition to Institutional Effort: Galería CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento-Latin American Development Bank); Recognition to the Promotion of Venezuelan Visual Arts: Centro de Estudios Especializados en Investigaciones Curatoriales (CEEIPC) helmed by artist Javier León; Best Large-Format Solo Exhibition: "Homo Mensura".
