Premio Villa de Rota de Artes Plásticas (Villa de Rota Visual Arts Prize)

The Alcalde Zoilo Ruiz-Mateos Foundation organizes the Villa de Rota Visual Arts Prize, a competition sponsored jointly with the Municipal Government of Rota, with a fund of 20,000 Euros allocated to purchase artworks independently from the results of the competition. Any artists, notwithstanding age or nationality, may participate in the competition, each with no more than two works in the modalities of painting or sculpture and which may be created with any materials. The Alcalde Zoilo Ruiz-Mateos Foundation is committed to taking good care of the artworks submitted, but will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or any other possible occurrence during the transportation, reception, deposit, exhibition, or return of the artworks. The works selected and purchased will be included in three exhibitions held from June 4 to July 20, from June 24 to July 11, and from July 15 to August 1, 2010. The announcement of the works chosen for purchase will take place on June 27. Such pieces will become part of the Ruiz-Mateos Museum Collection and of the Municipal Government of Rota. Works may be submitted for the competition throughout the entire month of April 2010.
