Petrobras Buenos Aires Photo Prize

Petrobras Energía and Buenos Aires Photo announce their call for participation in the 2010 edition of the Petrobras-Buenos Aires Photo competition. For the fifth consecutive year, the event is aimed at supporting artists and promoting new photographic manifestations. The competition is presented within the context of the sixth edition of the photography fair to be held in October at the Palais de Glace. The competition is regarded as one of the most important in the art market. During its 2009 call, it received 1492 entries. The new edition of the Petrobras Buenos Aires Photo Prize is presented at the Paseo de las Artes of the Palacio Duhau ¿ Park Hyatt, in Buenos Aires, with the objective of consolidating its projection into the Argentine cultural market. A jury that includes Victoria Verlichak, Alicia de Arteaga, Eduardo Villar, Rodrigo Alonso, and Valeria González will be responsible for selecting the 12 finalists who will compete for the prizes. Prizes for First and Second Place consist of a purse of 15,000 and 7,000 USD, respectively. Ten additional finalists will join the winners in an exhibition of 12 works at the Petrobras space within the 2010 fair. The deadline for presenting the works is September 3.
