The artist Susana Carrié won the National Award for women photographers with a trajectory for the series BoGotham, arquificciones memorables, nuevas ruinas y alegorías (BoGotham, memorable archifications, new ruins and allegories), granted by the Colombian Ministry of Culture.
The artist's career began in Rome as an industrial designer, study that she did not culminate. However, her work encompasses media such as painting, performing arts and graphic design. She has had multiple national and international solo and group exhibitions.
The series BoGotham, arquificciones memorables, nuevas ruinas y alegorías (BoGotham, memorable archifications, new ruins and allegories) alludes to concepts such as error, corruption, misunderstandings, among others. The manipulated photographs and the use of digital collage highlight symbols and imaginaries about Bogota. As such, Carrié is recognized for her sharp and compelling view of a multifaceted capital city in urban, landscape and human terms. From her work, which distances itself from the documentary, she has recreated a city from a critical, ironic and existential point of view.
