The Instituto Distrital de las Artes (IDARTES), through the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales, announces the call to participate in the 8th edition of the Luis Caballero Award. Artists over the age of 35 are invited to submit site specific installation or artistic intervention projects conceived for a space suggested by the entity or for a space suggested by the artist. This year's edition of the call introduces the possibility of entering works by artistic groups in which all the members that form them are 35 years old or older. The call is divided in two phases: the nomination phase, scheduled for 2014, and the award phase, presented in 2015. During the first phase, the organizers will grant one hundred twenty million Colombian pesos ($120,000,000.00) that will be divided into eight (8) stimuli of fifteen million pesos ($15,000,000.00) each. The purse includes production costs for the assembling, maintenance and disassembling of the projects, as well as the production of a virtual and a printed catalog that will include the artistic interventions in each space. In the second phase, the eight (8) artists nominated for the 8th Luis Caballero Award will simultaneously present to the public—during the months of September and November of 2015—the results of their explorations. The winner of the 8th Luis Caballero Prize will be selected from these eight projects. The spaces suggested for the artistic installation or intervention projects are: 1.
