Banco Itaú launched a new call for its acquisition prize that targets emerging young artists from across Argentina. Candidates will have until October 15 to upload images of their works—one image per candidate—into the webpage www.premioitau.com.ar/artesvisuales2013, as well as to have the opportunity to apply for scholarships for theoretical courses and workshops offered by the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, in the context of its Artists Program.
On this occasion, the award jury will be formed by: artist Ernesto Ballesteros; Marcela Römer, director of the Museo Castagnino Macro; architect Liliana Piñeiro, director of the Casa del Bicentenario; Silvia Calvani, in representation of Itaú; and the international guest, Agnaldo Farias, curator of the last São Paulo Biennial.
The award jury will be entrusted with choosing the three winning works from among the finalists. The winners will receive a purse of 30,000.00, 20,000.00, and 15,000.00 Argentinian pesos respectively, and their works will become part of the contemporary art collection at the Banco Itaú.
Likewise, internet participation without the need to transport the works in order to enter the competition will facilitate across the entire country.
