Caja de Extremadura, through its Social Works program, is calling for submissions to its International Visual Arts Award "Obra Abierta 2014".
The call is open to artists of any nationality and place of residence, prior inscription according to the event's rules. Each participant can submit a single work in any of the disciplines encompassed in today's art: a) painting and its expansion; b) sculpture; c) photography; and d) digital art, video, performance, and art intervention.
The theme for works submitted is free. Submissions must be unpublished, original, and not participating in any contest or event, show, exhibition, viewing, pass, or public presentation of any kind.
Inscription will be in digital support via the event's official web page, (*) through November 16th, 2013.
In its current edition, the event includes 15,000-euro award for the winner. The jury's decision will be made public on March 28th, 2014 in Plasencia (Cáceres). Once all participants documentations is received, the jury will make a selection of no more than 50 submissions, leaving two works "in reserve".
After the selection, the Social Works department of Caja de Extremadura will contact all selected artists, who will have 10 days to send the original for its exhibition. No correspondence will be maintained about works not selected.
