International Young Art Award

The call for the 6th International Art Biennial, ARTEJOVE-N 2014 is now open. The event is organized by the Fundación María José Jove with the objective of supporting and promoting young artists and their work. The Award consists of a purse of 12,000.00 euros, plus an additional fund of 15,000.00 euros allocated for the acquisition of the work.
Like in previous editions, the purse for the winning artist remains the same, but now the winning work will become part of the Colección de Arte Fundación María José Jove. Likewise, the winner will participate as member of the jury on the next edition of the event.
The call is open to artists under the age of 35. Each participant may present up to two original works created in one of the following artistic disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, installation and new disciplines.
Candidates that wish to participate must apply online on the Foundation's website and submit a photograph of their work. The jury will then preselect the works that must be physically submitted.
The jury will also select 15 works that will be part of a catalogue and an exhibition at the Foundation that is scheduled for May 15 of 2014, the same day in which the winner will be announced.
The jury for the Sixth edition of the Award will be formed by Felipa Jove Santos, photographer Manuel Vilariño; art critic and independent curator, Juan de Nieves; art critic, Bea Espejo; the winner of the Fifth edition of the Award, Rubén Ramos-Balsa; and the director of the Colección de Arte Fundación María José Jove, Marta García-Fajardo.
