The subject of absence, a constant element in contemporary art is one clue of the Twentieth Century. In the realm of photography, absence, as lack of outward expression, takes from the image the function of reproducing reality, as this is exteriorized as introspection that turns the invisible into images. It is the triumph of the photographer over the photographed object.
The works selected will be exhibited at the Museo d'ArteContemporanea di Roma (MACRO). From the pieces selected in the context of the general sellection of the IILA Award, an absolute winner will be chosen, who will be offered a one month residence in Rome to develop a photographic project centered on the Eternal City. The project will be presented at the Museo d'ArteContemporanea di Roma (MACRO), during the 2014 edition of the Festival.
