ArteBa and Petrobras announce the call for participation in the ninth edition of the Arteba-Petrobras Visual Arts Award. The call invites artists from all artistic disciplines to explore the possibilities of collaboration and experimentation, through projects that emerge from a dialogue between three or more artists; each working with different artistic and poetic-or investigative-approaches within the same discipline; or three or more artists, each working in different disciplines. A selection committee will unanimously¿and through absolute consensus¿choose 3 projects. The committee will be integrated by visual artists Pablo Siquier, Diego Bianchi, Fernanda Laguna, and Patricio Larrambebere; writer and art critic María Gainza: writer and researcher Ana Longoni; independent curator Javier Villa; writer Rubén Mira; filmmaker and playwright Santiago José Loza; as well as theatre directors and playwrights Emilio García-Wehbi, Mariana Obersztern, and Rafael Spregelburd. The three proposals selected will receive a grant of 20,000 (twenty thousand ARS) to complete and exhibit the projects at arteBA 2012, which will take place from May 18 through May 22 of 2012. The finalists will also compete for a prize of 50,000 (fifty thousand ARS). An informational meeting with the event's director will take place on Wednesday, December 21 of 2011, at the CCEBA- Centro Cultural de España in Buenos Aires (Paraná 1159).
