With an eye to creating a space for stimulating creativity and promoting participation, Telecom Argentina, S.A., through its Arnet broadband brand, presents the Premio Arnet a Cielo Abierto 2010 ¿ Esculturas e Instalaciones, a call held within the framework of the Arnet Cultura para Todos (Arnet Culture for Everybody) program. In this second edition, the Premio Arnet a Cielo Abierto will be organized jointly with the Museo de Arte Tigre ¿ municipality of Tigre, Buenos Aires Province ¿ an institution with a proven record of carrying out sculpture exhibitions by several artists in open spaces and a museum that has also rapidly become one of the most important cultural outlets to promote contemporary public art. Bringing these qualifications to bear ¿ and within the context of the one-hundred-year anniversary of its building ¿ the Museo de Arte Tigre offers its space and institutional structure for the realization of this second edition of the Premio Arnet a Cielo Abierto 2010. A jury panel will be selected to select ten (10) finalist projects, all of which will receive Honorable Mentions. The jury will then award a Special Mention to one of these ten participating projects, and the First Acquisition Prize ¿ also known as the Premio Arnet ¿ to the winning project for the amount of fifty thousand Argentine pesos ($50,000.00 ARS). It will be left to the sole discretion of the artist awarded the Premio Arnet to decide whether he/she will use part of or the total Prize money to build the work. The Tigre municipality will then be responsible for installing the finished piece at its permanent location. The finalist projects, along with the project that is awarded the Premio Arnet, will be exhibited to the public and included in the competition¿s catalog. These projects will also be massively promoted through several media outlets, and particularly on websites. The call is open to visual artists working in various artistic disciplines such as fine arts, photography, audiovisual media, as well as professionals in the fields of design, architecture, and urbanism. Participants must be 18 years old or older, including those presenting their work as part of a collective. The call is open to Argentines ¿ born in Argentina or naturalized ¿ who have resided in the country for at least two (2) years. Participants must send their projects to the Museo de Arte Tigre no later than Friday, July 30, 2010. More information: productos.arnet.com.ar/basesycondiciones_premioarnet2010.pdf
