During the fourth edition of the Arcos Dorados Latin American Painting Competition and Solo Show, organized in the context of ArteBA 2013, Argentinean artist, Adriana Minoliti, was awarded the Acquisition Prize for her work entitled Display (2012), an installation that measures 200 × 200 × 130 cm. (78.7 × 78.7 × 51.2 in.).
This edition of the event included the participation of the following Latin American artists: Adriana Minoliti (Argentina), Pedro Varela (Brazil), Orlando Rojas (Colombia), Lucía Madriz (Costa Rica), GT Pellizzi (Mexico) and Sebastián Cabrera (Peru). The selection of the artists—represented by their own galleries— was entrusted to Mexican independent curator, art critic, researcher and editor, Pablo León de la Barra. Each gallery exhibits the work of their own in a Solo Show presented during the event. At the same time, a special space has been allocated so the artists can participate with one of their never before published or exhibited works, in order to compete for the Acquisition Prize that offers a purse of USD 15,000.00
The Arcos Dorados Latin American Painting Competition and Solo Show has already invited 12 prestigious curators and 21 young talents under the age of 35 and from 9 countries across Latin America.
