The Brazilian Association of Art Critics (ABCA) announced the names of the visual artists, curators, critics, authors and cultural institutions that won the 2013 edition of the ABCA Awards (see complete list below). The award is divided into ten categories that connect the most important aspects of the visual arts landscape that contributed to Brazilian culture during 2013. Created by sculptor Nicolas Vlavianos, the trophy was presented to the winners on May 13, at 8 pm, in a ceremony at the SESC Vila Mariana. ABCA honors personalities from the art world through recognitions that emphasize the visual arts scene. The opening of sealed envelopes—which reflect the votes of the 81 members of the association—took place on April 22 at Museu Brasileiro da Escultura (MuBE) in São Paulo.
