TransparentArte Award Ceremony

A total of 119 artists submitted their work to the TransparentArte contemporary art competition organized by the Consejo para la Transparencia in Chile. The jury selected the finalist works because of their ability to sensitively and conceptually convey the relationship between appearance and reality.

The First Place went to Chilean artist Beatrice Di Girolamo, for her work Ilusión y Certeza (Illusion and Certainty). It will participate at the Ninth Mercosur Biennial 2013 that will be held in Porto Alegre (Brazil). The Second Place was awarded to Leonardo Guajardo for his work La Tierra Prometida (The Promised Land), and the Third Place went to Rodrigo Vergara for La Eterna Carrera de Enfrentarte y Nunca poder Deja de Alzarla (The Eternal Career of Confrontation Without Ever Being Able to Raise It).

TransparentArte is open to all Chilean artists with a minimum of 4 years of experience. Its goal is to create and develop a collection of national artworks never before exhibited, in order to help in the reflection and identification of the concept of transparency in society and contemporary democracy.
