A press release by Cuba's National Council of Visual Arts (http://www.cnap.cult.cu/actualidad/pospuesta-la-xiii-bienal-de-la-habana) and the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam announced the postponement of the 13th Havana Biennial. Originally scheduled for 2018, and for a while now presented every three years, the event was rescheduled for 2019 because of—according to the press release—the very serious damages that Hurricane Irma inflicted on the system of cultural institutions in the country. Organizers performed a thorough assessment of the resources that will be available for the recovery during the remainder of this year and 2018. Several other events have also been rescheduled.
