Picasso, el eterno femenino

The Cultural Center of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (CCPUCP), in collaboration with BBVA Continental and Petrobras, is presenting the exhibition Picasso, el eterno femenino.

The exhibition, curated by Mario Virgilio Montañez, will remain open through January, 2014. It features 66 prints that posit the female figure as an object of interest in Pablo Picasso's oeuvre.

Picasso, el eterno femenino is comprised of fourteen thematic nuclei: Mirror of the Soul, Portraits of Françoise, Portraits of Jacqueline, The Legacy of the Renaissance, Imagined Women, The Legacy of Cubism, Sitting Women, Divine Treasure, Mystery and Silence, Woman and the Artist, Observed Women, Women Who Observe, The Depth of Skin, and Women of Yesteryear.

Each nucleus presents a variety of points of view from which the artist worked, compiling parts, figures, poses, or treatments that are now points of reference in the history of the representation of women in the arts.

The works on exhibit belong to the Picasso Foundation, Museo Casa Natal in Malaa, Spain.
