Panmela Castro: Ideias Radicais sobre o Amor. Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR)

Museu de Arte do Rio presents a solo exhibition by Panmela Castro at Museu de Arte do Rio, Rio de Janeiro. Titled Ideias radicais sobre o amor [Radical Ideas About Love], the show features 17 works, including performances, photographs, paintings, sculptures, and videos, that explore themes such as affection and solitude.
Curated by Daniela Labra, with curatorial assistance from Maybel Sulamita, the exhibition will be shaped through performances, actions, and public participation, which will take place throughout the show. "All the works in some way need others to exist or to be completed; it is an exhibition that starts in construction," emphasizes Castro.
According to the curator, "This solo exhibition by Panmela Castro allows the public to discover many facets of her interdisciplinary language. Her work navigates different media and supports in a unique way, bringing together aesthetic and emotional matters in a fundamentally performative and processual work. The exhibition at MAR features new pieces and versions of others already known, creating a playful, thought-provoking, and transformative environment."
