Óscar Roldán Alzate, for six years a Curator at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín (Colombia), will move on to a new professional post as the Director of Outreach for Universidad de Antioquia, replacing Adelaida Jaramillo. Alzate will take the position next March 3rd.
Roldán Alzate holds a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and in Political Science from Universidad de Antioquia. He began his work at MAMM in January, 2008. Among other, Alzate considers two exhibitions he curated especially significant: Sociales. Débora Arango llega hoy, which besides the Museo Nacional de Colombia and the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín was presented at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), the Mint Museum, and El Museo del Barrio, and Bienes Mostrencos, with the work of Carlos Garaicoa.
Alzate leaves a significant mark with his tenure at MAMM, not just for the institution but for the local, national, and international art circuits.
