ONLAB

OnLAB, New Works Laboratory, is the result of a research project by French artist Michel Paysant that brings together art, science, and a variety of techniques in the creation of artworks at a nanoscopic and microscopic scale. These works articulate an interconnected dialog between the world of art and adjacent universes.

The works explore the boundaries of knowledge at a scale of retinal perception. Paysant has created art inspired on architecture, on originals held by the Louvre, and on standards of modern art. OnLAB, created as an interactive device, makes it possible for visitors to activate tiny, sculpted gold-dust grains and to gain an awareness of the vertigo of different scales, in an interplay of fiction and reality.

The project can be visited through January, 25th, 2014 at Lelia Mordoch Gallery (Miami). An illustrated catalog with 221 color images accompanies the exhibition.
