This new space was inaugurated on April 25 in the Cartagena Historic District. Former Culture Minister Araceli La Chica Morales and Gallery Director Esteban Jaramillo had been planning for several years the creation of a space that is now a reality under the directorship of Morales. The gallery covers an area of 200 square meters of indoor and outdoor spaces; these are set to hold temporary painting, sculpture and installation exhibitions that are aimed to expanding the concept of La Cometa ¿ Bogotá. A colonial house was adapted to serve the needs of an art venue. There is an interior sculpture garden designed to complement the architectural space and to maintain a structural unity with the rest of the exhibition areas. Jaramillo and Morales are also in negotiations to develop new alliances that will allow the flow of visitors to the Gallery at the Historic District where it will be possible to view and buy works of art by important national and international masters. It opens seven days a week until 9:00 pm.
