Starting on January 1st 2008, the new team of Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach will take office. It will formed by Cay Sohie Rabinowitz, in charge of art direction, Annette Schönholzer, in organizational and funding, and Marc Spiegler, in strategy and development. The three of then are international experts who will replace former director Sam Keller. Cay Sohie Rabinowitz is a literature graduate of Reed Collage and Emory University, has carried out and cured exhibitions at several museums and galleries. She also has worked as contributor editor for Art Papers and has been Editor for Sweedish publication Parkett. Annette Schönholzer, graduated from the International Centre for Culture and Management of Salzburg in 2000, worked for several institutions both public and private such as the Cultural Competence Center of Canton Aargau. Schönholzer was also project director for the BIOPOLIS exhibition at the Swiss National Exhibition, EXPO.02, and has been Exhibition Director of the Art Basel Miami Beach International Art show since December 2002. Marc Spiegler studied Political Sciences and has a Master degree in journalism form the School of Journalism in Chicago. He is a freelance writer for several papers and art magazines such as The Art Newspaper, Monopol, Art & Auction Magazine, ARTnews Magazine, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, and the New York Magazine. ArtBasel expects that this new team may generate an artistic and strategic development. In order to improve the service for galleries, artists, collectors, museums and sponsors etc.
