The Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) has announced the new directors. The Cultural Diffusion Coordination of this institution has appointed Sol Henaro, curator and researcher, as the new director of the Museo Universitario del Chopo, who took office on January 16. Additionally, Pablo Landa, an anthropologist, was appointed director of the Museo Experimental el Eco starting February 1.
Sol Henaro, born in Mexico City in 1976, holds a degree in Art from the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, with a master's in Museological Studies and Critical Theory obtained from the Programa de Estudios Independientes del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona. Until 2023, she held the Curator of Documentary Collections position at the MUAC - Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo de Ciudad de México. She has also been a beneficiary of grants from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) and the Foundation / Jumex Collection.
Pablo Landa is a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Princeton University in the United States. In 2016, he was the curator of the Mexican Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. His research focuses on the intersection of politics, social relations, and architecture. In 2014, he curated the "Mario Pani, architecture in process" exhibition at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO).
