The Andy Warhol Museum appointed Australian Nicholas Chambers as its new Milton Fine Curator of Art, a position named after Milton Fine, a sponsor of the Museum and former member of its board of directors. Chambers will take over the post by the end of April, 2012.
Chambers' academic and professional background is supported by a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sydney. In 2005, he worked as a researcher at the Yale Center for British Art and has worked in many initiatives at public art museums and, in 2007, became head curator of the exhibition Andy Warhol at the Queensland Art Gallery, the cultural venue in which he served as curator of international contemporary art. This exhibition was organized in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Museum.
Chambers affirms that he is very pleased by the opportunity to be part of The Andy Warhol Museum. His new role in the museum's team was made possible by a 1.5 million USD donation the institution received in September of 2007 from the Milton Fine Foundation.
