Nancy Rojas, Curator MALBA
In an official announcement, the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires- MALBA announced the appointment of Nancy Rojas (Rosario, 1978) to the Curatorial Department of the museum, currently headed by Verónica Rossi and María Amalia García as Chief Curator.
As part of her role, Nancy Rojas will carry out research and curatorial tasks for projects of both the Collection and temporary exhibitions. In addition, she will be responsible for coordinating the liaison with the curators and guest artists of the assigned projects.
Between 2004 and 2013, Nancy Rojas served as part of the Curatorial team at Museo Castagnino+macro. She carried out numerous research, performative and curatorial projects in public institutions and cultural spaces, mainly in Argentina. She is the author of books and numerous essays and research papers published in visual media, catalogs, and books from publishers all over the country. She is a member of the Argentine Association of Art Critics, where she is currently a member of the Board of Directors.
In recent years she has curated institutional programs such as the exhibition "Fugas" at the Centro Cultural Parque de España in Rosario, the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, of the National Ministry of Culture, the Quincena del Arte de Rosario, of the Secretary of Culture and Education of that city and the space Isla de Ediciones of arteBA. She teaches at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, in the master’s degree in Curating Contemporary Art at ESEADE, and has given seminars in numerous study programs at institutions such as the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and the Escuela Municipal de Artes Manuel Musto de Rosario, among others.
She has received scholarships from the Cisneros Foundation for CIMAM professionals, the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the Antorchas Foundation, Espacio Santafesino, the National Fund for the Arts, and the Telefónica Foundation. Likewise, in 2007 she was awarded the José León Pagano Prize by the AACA for the collective exhibition of national artists 2006 for the curatorial proposal "Amores posibles".
