The Musée Picasso in the city of Paris reopens its doors on June 21 of 2014. After 5 years and a budget of 52 million euros, the museums is ready to welcome twice as many visitors as it used to and with the expectation of receiving over one million visitors during the first year. Anne Baldassari, Director of the museum, explains that the venue has taken the totality of the Hotel Salé, a building constructed in the 17th Century that has been completely renovated in the iconic Parisian neighborhood of Le Mareis. After undergoing several alterations, the place with have a total real state of 3.800 square meters—1,500 square meters more than before—divided into more than 30 exhibition rooms. Initiated during the 1970s by the artist and his inheritors, the museum's collection consists of around 5,000 works, 80 percent of these drawings. For the inauguration and for six more months 450 works will be on display. Most of the Budget for the revamping was obtained from the proceeds generated by the collection's traveling exhibition. Nonetheless, the project also received some government funding and from the Eiggage Group.
