Miami Art Museum Revamped and Renamed

The Miami Art Museum or MAM—as it had been known until 2011 before it closed for renovations—received a new anonymous donation of 12 million dollars in cash and another estimated 3 million dollars in artworks.

Scheduled for December of 2013, the reopening of the museum will also mark a new period for the institution under a new name: the Perez Art Museum Miami.

According to the periodical El Nuevo Herald from the city of Miami, the couple of collectors Dennis and Debra Scholl, donated nearly 300 artworks by emerging artists.
