The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago reopens its Main Exhibition Hall

The main exhibition hall of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago was reopened on August 27. This section of the museum was closed following the theft of two works by artist Damien Hirst that were property of art collector Juan Yarur. The museum was broken into on August 15 of this year while an outdoor concert attended by 60,000 people was going on.

The stolen works—one eventually anonymously returned and the other found inside a bag by a security guard—are worth US$17,334.00 each and were part of the exhibition titled A Personal Account, based on a selection of works owned by Mr. Yarur.
