Within the framework of the 4th Bienalsur, five exhibitions were inaugurated on July 29 at the MUNTREF Centro de Arte Contemporáneo and Museo de la Inmigración. The exhibition cycle includes group and solo shows which can be visited until December 31 of this year.
"Rompecabezas" is one of the two group shows, curated by Diana B. Wechsler and Benedetta Casini, brings together the work of artists such as Regina Silveira, Glenda León, and Jorge Macchi, configuring a decentralized historical account of Latin American reality. The second exhibition to be visited at MUNTREF is "(Without) Limits" curated by French curator Etienne Bernard, proposing a space enabling the deconstruction of the limits of binarism, exploring new worlds beyond duality.
The solo exhibitions are "Casas vacías no hacen ciudad" by the Catalan artist Jordi Colomer, "Tribe Apex" by the Dutch artist SMACK and “Sindemia, estallidos andinos” by the Chilean Voluspa Jarpa. This third one, curated by Diana B. Wechsler and Eugenio Viola, explores through the term "syndemia" (a situation in which several epidemics coexist in time and mutually potentiate each other) the social manifestations that occurred between October 2019 and March 2020 in Chile.
These five exhibitions can be visited at Av. Antártida Argentina S/N (between Dirección Nacional de Migraciones and Buquebus), Buenos Aires, Argentina.
