MAVI La Colección. Los 90

The Museo de Artes Visuales (MAVI) presents the exhibition MAVI La Colección. Los 90 through November 25th. The show, curated by María Irene Alcalde, is a revision of that period in chronological terms and on the basis of works from the museum's collection, including paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures by artists such as Arturo Duclos, Eugenio Téllez, Pedro Pablo Valdéz, Carlos Altamirano, Claudia Kemper, Ismael Frigerio, Francisco Copello, and Paz Errázuriz.

The MAVI collection comprises around 1,400 artworks, some 300 of which belong to that specific period. As in most private art collections, these works began to be acquired following personal tastes and closeness to given artists.

Two-dimensional works created between 1990 and 1999 by artists at different points in their careers—some already renowned, others just starting, and more in the process of establishing themselves—are included in the exhibition.
