Marta Minujín celebrates her 80th birthday at MALBA

On January 31st, Argentinean artist Marta Minujín celebrated her 80th birthday “wedding with eternity” at MALBA (Museo Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires). The artist travelled among a group of artists and friends dressed in black, wearing her legendary masks on a public bus from the city of Buenos Aires and arrived at the Museum in the early evening. Wearing a pink festive dress and her metal shaded sunglasses, she announced her upcoming retrospective exhibition at MALBA, to continue as a travelling exhibition later to New York, Denmark, and Belgium. Throughout the evening she expressed: “This is pure art, living in art! (esto es arte puro, vivir en arte!)”.
