Marcos Ramírez ERRE

The Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil presents until September 17 the exhibition entitled The Reconstruction of the Facts, by artist Marcos Ramírez-aka ERRE-who for over two decades has been surveying political, social, economic, cultural and aesthetic themes through artistic inquiries that expose the frictions and implications that inhabit such themes. ERRE translates sociopolitical complexities intricately connected to tangible objects that operate as "material moments." This exhibition gathers some of his most iconic works-never before presented in Mexico-as well as works shown to the public for the first time. Consisting of metal, wood, brick, and concrete sculptures, the exhibit aims at presenting a critical perspective of ERRE's artistic career. According to a spokesperson for the Museum, the Reconstruction of the Facts does not comply with a linear or temporal model for presenting the works, as its purpose is to incite a dialog between the artist¿s earlier and most recent works and between his better and lesser known projects; in order to underscore the methodology and aesthetic logic that have been perfected by ERRE during the last 25 years.
