Incident is the title of the painting with which the artist from Barranquilla, Marco Mojica, won the first edition of the Fernando Botero prize. The jury took into account technical command of the language employed, the clarity of the proposal presented, and the work¿s contribution in the context of national plastics. Alejandro Ortiz received special mention for his works Our bread, take more and pay less, and Our gold. The award, created for artists under 35 years of age, by the Foundation of Young Colombian Artists with the support of the master Fernando Botero, presents a prize of 100 million Colombian pesos. Together with Mojica, other outstanding works were presented by: Efraín Peña, Miguel Cádenas, Sergio Vega, Pablo Adarme, Sair García, Carlos Castro, Eduardo Moreno and Vicente Álvarez, among others. Marco Mojica will present an exhibition of his work in the El Museo Gallery in Bogotá in May, and afterwards in the Jenny Vilá Gallery in Cali in September.
