The Centro de la Imagen in Lima is an institution with more than twenty years dedicated to teaching photography. On this occasion, it launches the call Focus Sickness, a master program developed for Latin American photographers and aimed at the creation of solo projects for exhibitions or publications. The program relies on the combination of theoretical teaching and practical experiences through classes taught by international teachers and the participation of guest artists, curators and gallery owners who, with the support of tutorials, debates, conferences and classes, analyze the international landscape of photography and of contemporary art as well. This group of teachers include first-class Peruvian photographers and teachers from other countries, including: Gao Bo (China), Oscar Muñoz (Colombia), Luis González Palma and Rosina Cazali (Guatemala), Joan Fontcuberta and Martí Llorens (Spain), Mark Klett (US), Martin Parr (UK), Andrea Josch (Chile), Luis Camnitzer (Uruguay/US), Antoine D'Agata (France), Juan Antonio Molina (Cuba), Simon Norfolk (Nigeria/UK) and Rosângela Rennó (Brazil). The selection of candidates will be decided by an evaluation team composed of Alejandro Castellote, Director of the Master, and by two other invited international professors. Candidates must send a portfolio or a developed photographic project with 12 to 20 photographs and a text that supports the work before Monday, June 16, 2014 to: master@centrodelaimagen.edu.pe. The package must include the applicant's full name, DNI (if Peruvian) or any government issued ID or passport that attest to his/her place of residence, e-mail address, home address and two contact telephone numbers (cellular or home).
