MADC opens the "La Nigüenta" call for artists from Central America and the Caribbean

The Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo de Costa Rica (MADC) has created a solidarity initiative, to collaborate with contemporary artists, designers, curators, researchers, and cultural managers who are facing a situation of a financial crisis at this time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the internal functioning of MADC, and because it is a public institution, La Nigüenta is carried out through an open call, which is based on intellectual production, research, artistic production, and contemporary design.
The call is open for proposals from contemporary artists, designers, curators, researchers and managers from other related disciplines, interested in contemporary artistic practices. Participation of citizens residing in Central America and the Caribbean are admitted.
Proposals will be received from May 11 to June 14, 2020.
The financial support consists of 4 prizes of ¢ 325,000 (three hundred twenty-five thousand colones equivalent to approximately US $558.47 dollars.
Additionally, a conceptual accompaniment will be extended in curatorship, museography, mediation, communication, and general graphic image design.
