LIPAC (Research Laboratory for Contemporary Artistic Practices) 2010 was created with the goal of generating platforms that serve as spaces for inspiration and for the promotion of knowledge, production, and appropriation. National and international artists, curators, critics, researchers, and cultural promoters, as well as artists working on the limits of any artistic genre, may participate. There is no age requirement for participation.
LIPAC is divided into three platforms: PROJECT DEVELOPMENT consists of the creation of research, production, and exchange groups made up of a national and international staff of artists and curators/critics. Local staff: Esteban Álvarez (artist/curator); Leticia El Halli-Obeid (artist); Mara Facchín (artist); Alicia Herrero (artist); Claudio Iglesias (critic/curator); Gustavo Romano (artist/curator), and Tamara Stuby (artist). SEMINARS, CONFERENCES, ENCOUNTERS, EXCHANGES with the participation of prominent artists, curators, critics, and researchers of high international standing in the fields of contemporary art and thought, and/or prestigious and influential academic papers. Such content will be selected with the goal of eliciting a certain dynamic and in order to articulate processes for generating ideas and to develop the projects in platform 1. PANEL WORKSHOPS inspired by a desire to inquire collectively and experimentally about the various artistic fields, experiments, essays, and theorizations concerned with the rethinking of the contemporary meaning of what is public. Through round tables, performing texts, and public panels, prominent guests will approach this theme from a variety of strategies, tensions, and complexities through participation in round tables, the performance of texts, and public panels. The project¿s development and work modality is as follows: Twenty-four projects will be selected and will be worked on in groups of eight; the authors of the projects will participate in workshops that will take place on consecutive days for one week during the months of August, September, and October 2010.
