Under the slogan "Private Light in Public Spaces," the first edition of the Light Art Biennial will be inaugurated on September 2 in Linz, and on September 4, it will move to Perchtoldsdorf, Austria. Thirty-four artists from three continents and thirteen countries will participate in this first edition of the event. They are brought together by the use of light as an artistic medium used in the development of their projects. This first Biennial will occur at the same time and place of the celebration of the prestigious ARS Electronica Festival, the art, technology, and society festival taking place in the city of Linz from September 2-11. The young Spanish curator, Laura Plana-García, will curate the first Light Art Biennial. The Catalonian curator currently lives in London and has worked for the Fundación Dalí and the Joan Prats Gallery. She will soon participate in a research residency at the Centre d'Estudis in Barcelona, granted by the Macba (the Barcelona Museu d'Art Contemporani).
