The Leon Tovar Gallery and the Cristina Grajales Gallery recently moved to a new shared address located at 152 West 25th Street in Manhattan. The Leon Tovar Gallery inaugurated its space with an exhibition by Edgar Negret, while the Cristina Grajales Gallery presented two exhibitions, one by the artistic duo of Steven and William Ladd, and another by Stefan Bishop. With real estate of 6,000 square feet, the new space is divided into three parts. One section for the Cristina Grajales Gallery, with projects by the artists that it represents; another for the Leon Tovar Gallery; and, the third one, dedicated to joint exhibition projects by artists represented by both galleries. The design of the different spaces was entrusted to architect Jorge Lizarazo, founder of Hechizzo Textiles (a weaving workshop in Colombia), who divided the three spaces in a very unusual and original way. The Leon Tovar Gallery currently presents the group exhibition titled "Shadow," and the Cristina Grajales Gallery is showing the group exhibition "Rise and Shine." The shared exhibition space presents a solo show by Ross Bleckner titled "Prayer Rugs," consisting of tapestries with prayer texts, a project that began in 2013.
