Le Corbusier en el río Medellín, arquitectura, ficción y cartografía en las obras del grupo Utopía, the project awarded with the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation's 6th Historical Curatorship Prize in 2013, will be on exhibit from September 19th through October 31st, 2014. Curated by Efrén Giraldo and Óscar Roldán-Alzate, the exhibition recognizes the work that the Utopía group—formed by Jorge Mario Gómez (Medellin, 1950), Ana Patricia Gómez (Medellin, 1951), and Fabio Antonio Ramírez (Medellin, 1950)—produced during the past two decades, which postulates possible worlds through visual speculations and dialogs between art's visual, constructive, and ideological referents. The questions provoked by the Utopía group of architects are situated in a space where architecture, design, draftsmanship, and painting converge and connect, as do the issues that utopian and dystopian speculations generate in the representation and intervention of space.
