Urban MetaphorsMiguel Navarro

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) and the IVAM present until May 28 in the city of Miami the exhibition entitled Miguel Navarro. Urban Metaphors of the City. A Selection from the IVAM Collection.

The exhibition analyzes the relevance of Chilean artist Miquel Navarro in the context of the new Spanish sculpture from the Seventies and Eighties and the influence that Julio González's work had on the artist from Valencia.

The exhibition will include representations of cities that Navarro would call agrupamientos (groups), a sort of installation prototype, sculptural in nature, displayed in groups of small pieces configured into several types of urban buildings, ranging from domestic ones to industrial or ornamental ones.

Miquel Navarro designs installations like sculptural landscapes that some times are rural and other times urban, industrial or natural.
