LACAP, first space in Toronto Dedicated to Art from Latin America

A new space dedicated to the promotion and creation of art from Latin America will open its doors to the public on June 27 in the city of Toronto, Canada. After ten years of artistic activity by the group of Toronto-based Latin American artists—most of them from Chile—known as LACAP (Latin American Canadian Projects), the inauguration of the space will lead to international exchanges that will result in innovation at the social and cultural levels and offer opportunities of national and international significance. Some of the initiatives achieved by the group to promote Latin American art have included the participation of curator Gerardo Mosquera and artists like Regina Silveira (Brazil), Luis Camnitzer (Uruguay), Tania Bruguera (Cuba) and, coming soon, of Mexican artist Minerva Cuevas.
