The project was inaugurated on December 13, 2015, in Mexico City's Historic Center. It was inspired by an influenza outbreak that affected the Mexican capital in 2010. According to Marisa Lara and Arturo Guerrero, the project's creators, "The authorities thought that, in order to prevent contagion among the public, it was necessary to ask people to avoid kissing, hugging and shaking hands as measures to prevent or control the outspread of influenza. This worried us greatly. The banning of kisses and hugs was heartbreaking to us. So we decided to create art that would hug, kiss and bring people together… This was the genesis of 'The Everlasting Lives' for the public space." The artistic universe created by Marisa Lara and Arturo Guerrero has never stopped demonstrating their inventive abilities. First individually and then, in a brilliantly productive fusion, as a team under the name Siameses Company, they have demonstrated that their reflections are matched only by the overflowing imaginary that accompanies and shapes them. Tireless and limitless, while also critical, poetic and humorous, their universe is very often ludic. To both artists the creative endeavor is not only a challenge but also a game. Not only a mere discourse at the service of an idea, the narrative to them is also the desire to enter into a dialog with viewers in order to generate a "relational" aesthetic work that anyone can reach. Without forgetting that aesthetic enjoyment contributes to the pleasure caused by the encounter, they know that it also stimulates memories and reflections that lead to surprising inquiries. These four "unidentified objects," interactive sculptures that are also ephemeral "places for life," illuminate with their happy, and yet sometimes nostalgic, craziness an urban space where humanity and aesthetics are continuously under threat. Simple and yet rendered with complex structures and constructions, the four sculptures on painted metal required months of exploration to get right their proportions and ergonomics, colors and themes, three-dimensionalities and arrangement in the space, trimmings…. in order to generate that which could be reminiscent of an open book, endless enjoyment. In this stage of the mundane conceived under the sign of duality, an entire animal and intimate cosmogony (dog and cat, among others) accompanies the hurried passersby or the flâneur that takes advantage of this ludic and happy space conceived to be shared, to seat and enjoy a pleasurable moment stolen from the inexorable passage of time..
