The Museo de Arte Moderno in Medellin launches the second edition of La Puerta call—for the temporal intervention of the main entrance door at its headquarters in Ciudad Del Río—created with the goal of stimulating the development of artistic creation and to set in motion a project that links the architectural space with art.
The previous year the call was very well received. Ninety eight proposals were entered on that occasion from several places across the country, as well as from places like Spain, the US, Venezuela, Mexico and Argentina, among others.
The call is open to any national and international artists, architects, designers and other type of creators, whose proposals conform to the principle of two-dimensionality—drawing, illustration, photography, painting, digital art, etc.—and that are also ephemeral, economical, and can be digitally reproduced.
Formed by the Technical Committee of the museum and guest experts, the jury will select the winners by taking into account their creativity, the works' interaction with the space and its surroundings, quality and presentation. The two proposals selected will have the privilege of being exhibited at la puerta (the door) of the Museo for a period of six months. Likewise, these images will be promoted in a publication produced and sponsored by MAMM; the other proposals selected will be exhibited in out mobile museum in several places across the city.
Candidates must submit their proposals by March 20 of 2013. The results of the call will be announced on March 26. The winning proposal will be shown on April 23. More information is available at: www.elmamm.org/convocatorias/ or inter-venga@elmamm.org
